Editor note: Light floral and delicate herbaceous notes on the nose, partly candied citrus fruit and stone fruit, hint of black berries. Light-bodied, sweetish fruit on the palate, integrated acidity, prominent vegetal notes, earthy traces, slightly persistent and slightly muted on an otherwise good finish.

The production area is located in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany and is named after the river of the same name. There is a lot of preserved evidence of the Romans, who already cultivated wine here. The vineyards cover 4,237 hectares of vines along the river from Hunsrück to the mouth of the Rhine near Bingen. Near Bingen, the Benedictine abbess Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) founded the Rupertsberg monastery.
