2020 Malterdingen Chardonnay VDP.Ortswein Alte Reben, Baden, Germany

Firm and quite deep, still slightly smoky-reductive aroma with very fine, relatively concentrated vegetal and yellow-fruity aromas as well as delicate mushroomy tones reminiscent of sautéed chanterelles. Taut, tart, cool, polished fruit with lively, very fine acidity, smoky nuances and slightly nutty tones, fine vegetal tones on the palate, salty and chalky minerality, very light dark smoky tones, persistent, good depth, still very young, has tension, very good, firm, cool, juicy finish with fresh vegetal and clearly mineral notes. Will mature excellently.
