2020 Malterdingen Spätburgunder VDP.Ortswein Alte Reben, Baden, Germany

Deep, firm, somewhat mushroomy and restrainedly herbaceous aroma with very fine red and black berry aromas, a hint of cherries and hints of juniper and delicately resinous tones in the background. Clear, tightly knit, dense, tangy, rather cool fruit, relatively dark, fine spice, mellow, yet youthful tannin and some acidity, persistent, lively and fresh on the palate, good depth, peppery and juniper-ethereal notes, salt in the background, a hint of sage, very good, tight finish with fine cool juice and again ethereal notes.
