2019 Malterdingen Chardonnay VDP.Ortswein Alte Reben, Baden, Germany

Cool, polished, slightly nutty, yeasty and smoky nose with cool, bright yellow fruity aromas, a hint of butter, some minerality and herbal to planty nuances reminiscent of marjoram and capers. Clear, tart, fine-juicy fruit, tightly woven, grippy and with an animating bite, delicately smoky notes, planty to herbaceous and yeasty hints, persistent, certain depth, cool minerality, still undeveloped, has polish and tension, very good, tight, tart-juicy finish with light minerality and again a little smoke.
