2018 Malterdingen VDP.Ortswein trocken, Baden, Germany

Tart, somewhat reductive, slightly smoky and dried-vegetable scent of red and a little black berries with a hint of cherries and tobacco and peppery traces. Clear, ripe, juicy fruit, a little nutty wood spice, crumbly-sandy tannin, good substance and persistence, some minerality in the background, spicy and slightly toasty nuances, a hint of coffee, very good, juicy and again a little wood-spicy finish with bite
