2019 Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese "ESSENZ", Württemberg, Germany

Firm, quite concentrated, slightly waxy and a hint of floral scent of partly candied and dried yellow fruits with a hint of rubber. Very sweet yellow and partly also a little green looking fruit, planty and floral notes, present acidity, slightly covering tannin, again also rubber, good persistence, candy tones, very good finish with bacony nuances. Unfortunately not quite as convincing as it was almost two years ago; tastes greener and rougher today.

Editor note: Lightly dried vegetable, delicate floral and earthy scent of partly candied and dried yellow fruits with tart mineral notes. Very sweet, quite juicy fruit with lively acidity and clearly fresh vegetable aromas, some candy on the palate, a hint of rhubarb, lasting, hinted yellow spice, certain minerality, very good, tight, sweet and juicy finish with herbal notes and a hint of bacon
