2022 Burkheim Feuerberg Kesselberg Spätburgunder VDP.Grosses Gewächs trocken, Baden, Germany

Clear, rather cool and firm, polished nose with mixed berries, plums, and cherries with a hint of root vegetables, smoky-roasted wood notes, fine soup herb notes, and peppery-ethereal nuances. Bitter, quite firm, juicy fruit, smoky and slightly roasted wood spice, a certain acidic bite, and present, somewhat sandy and drying tannins, lasting on the palate, has inner strength, fine root vegetables and salt in the background, a touch of paprika powder, ethereal notes, very good, firm, juicy, and grippy finish with cool minerality and fine bite. Gains significantly with air.
