Wine Review Report:

wein.plus rating: excellent (90 WP) What our ratings mean
Last reviewed: 19 November, 2020
Editor note: Restrained, clearly nutty fragrance with moderate vegetable and slightly warm yellow-fruity aromas. Tart fruit in the mouth, again clearly nutty and somewhat planty aromas, also a little bit of dried herbs and a hint of tobacco, fine acidity, lots of tart minerality, persistent, has power and a certain warmth, firm structure, certain depth, hinted at bacon in the background, very good, firm, tart, juicy, nutty, smoky and mineral finish
wein.plus rating: 90 WP

Editor note: Translate to English Kühler, nussiger und vegetabiler Duft mit zurückhaltenden gelbfruchtigen Aromen, etwas Holz, gewürzigen Spuren und herber, erdiger Mineralik. Reife, geschliffene, feinsaftige Frucht, völlig trocken, nussig und leicht holzig, bei aller Kraft auch am Gaumen Kühl, viel herbe Mineralik, feiner Säurebiss, gute Nachhaltigkeit, sehr guter Abgang.
Area of the German production region of Baden; see there

The wine-growing region is located in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg in Germany and is divided into South Baden and North Baden. It stretches almost 400 kilometres from Lake Con stance along the Upper Rhine Plain via the Badische Bergstrasse and Kraichgau to Tauberfranken. The vineyards cover 15,828 hectares. To the north lies the city of Heidelberg with Germany's oldest university, founded in 1386. The Baden Wine Route begins north of this city and leads to Ortenau in southern Baden. As early as the 2nd century, winegrowing spread northwards from Lake Constance. It reached its peak in the 16th century.

Viticulture was founded by the colonisation of Gaul by the Greeks and then brought to perfection by Roman culture. The conquest of Gaul by Julius Caesar (100-44 BC) brought Roman viticulture from the Rhône valley to the...
