The winery is located in the municipality of Kallstadt (area Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße) in the German wine-growing region Pfalz. The family has been resident here since the 17th century. The business is managed by Karola Bender-Haaß and Dipl. Ing. Otto Haaß. The vineyards cover nine hectares of vineyards in the locations Kobnert, Kreidkeller, Saumagen and Steinacker (Kallsstadt), as well as Himmelreich (Herxheim). They are 65% planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (one third),Pinot Blanc, PinotGris, Silvaner and Scheurebe, and 35% with the red wine varietiesPinot Noir, St. Laurent,Pinot Meunier, Regent and Dornfelder. Parallel to the restructuring of the variety range, the cultivation of the single vine stocks was increasingly intensified. The quality of the grapes on each individual vine is considered important. The grapes are harvested by hand, pressed gently and the must fermented at controlled temperatures. The white wines are aged in stainless steel tanks, the red wines in large wooden barrels and partly in . In years with suitable weather conditions, Trockenbeerenauslese wines are also pressed. Bottle-fermented , brandy, grape juice, grape seed oil and wine vinegar are also produced.
