2013 Riesling Landwein trocken >>60<<, Rheingau, Germany

Somewhat nutty, yeasty aromas of ripe stone fruit and partly dried and candied citrus fruit with tobacco and light vegetal aromas, some yellow spice and crunchy pomaceous fruit. Very firm, tart, restrained fruit that becomes significantly juicier with air, with yeasty, nutty and very slightly buttery flavours, fine, quite lively acidity and present, very fine tannins, smoky tones on the palate, distinct salty and somewhat chalky notes, salty and somewhat chalky minerality, dense and persistent on the palate, good depth, some yellow spice, white bread in the background, herbs and a little mushroom, very good, firm, grippy and increasingly juicy finish with slightly smoky spice and lots of minerality. Still needs a day of air.
