2012 Pinot Noir trocken Caviar de Pinot, Gutswein, Rheingau, Germany

Open, mature nose, bread notes, dried herbs and wilted flowers, red berries and a hint of cassis, light hint of mushrooms and earthy nots. Clear. juicy red fruit on the palate, lively, elegant acidity,. hint of orange zests, herbaceous aromas, light peppery spice, prominent mineral notes, has some oxidative notes, but is also still quite fresh, and surprisingly vibrant after the light wilted notes on the nose, fine tannins, persistent, some depth, firm acid bite on a very good, firm, tart, juicy finish. Although the wine is still quite lively on the palate, the rather low sulphur content is now, unfortunately, very obvious.
