Wine Review Report :

wein.plus rating: very good (89 WP)

Editor note: Open, mature nose, bread notes, dried herbs and wilted flowers, red berries and a hint of cassis, light hint of mushrooms and earthy nots. Clear. juicy red fruit on the palate, lively, elegant acidity,. hint of orange zests, herbaceous aromas, light peppery spice, prominent mineral notes, has some oxidative notes, but is also still quite fresh, and surprisingly vibrant after the light wilted notes on the nose, fine tannins, persistent, some depth, firm acid bite on a very good, firm, tart, juicy finish. Although the wine is still quite lively on the palate, the rather low sulphur content is now, unfortunately, very obvious.
Best to drink: Drink now.

Muss zwingend reifen.

The vineyards cover 3,211 hectares of vine area starting at the lower Main river east of Wiesbaden and extending about 50 kilometres along the right bank of the Rhine to Lorch north of Rüdesheim. The "Rheingau Riesling Route" wine route runs along the right bank of the Rhine from Lorch to Hochheim. Emperor Charlemagne (742-814) allegedly had the first vineyard planted near today's Johannisberg Castle. It is also said that the Spätlese was "invented" here, which is evidenced by the story of the Spätlese rider. Especially in the...
