2016 Stetten Stein Riesling VDP.Grosses Gewächs trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Slightly developed nose, prominent vegetal and herbaceous notes, initially a hint of charcoal, ripe citrus fruit, citrus zest and stone fruit, nutty and floral traces, smoke and peppery, ethereal spice. Ripe, slightly sweetish fruit that becomes more tart with air, with nutty and herbaceous flavours, very fine acidity, some grip, candied citrus fillets and zest on the palate, also some apricot and peach, hints of yellow spice, almost a little creamy texture on the palate, but gains more tannic grip with air, a hint of dark berries in the background, initially rather restrained mineral notes that become clearer with air, very good, quite juicy, sweetish finish, again with slightly ethereal notes.
