2009 Gimmeldingen Mandelgarten Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Developed yellow-fruity nose with delicate tobacco and nutty aromas, floral traces and some minerality. Ripe, melting, somewhat warm fruit, nutty and a little yellow-spicy aromas, a touch of butter, moderate acidity, nutty hints, also slightly dried-vegetable, mineral tones in the background, good persistence and some depth, very good finish with warm juice and spice.

Editor note: Still slightly restless, tobacco and somewhat yeasty fragrance with dried herbal tones, aromas of very ripe, partly dried pome and stone fruit as well as a lot of earthy minerals. Very firm in the mouth, ripe, juicy fruit with fine tart tobacco-vegetal notes and lots of earthy minerality, strength and substance on the palate, very fine, but still present, marbling acidity of the wine, excellent balance, melt and bite, quite deep, long reverberation.
