Weingärtner Cleebronn-Güglingen eG

The winegrowers' cooperative "Weingärtner Cleebronn-Güglingen eG" is located in the municipality of Cleebronn (Württemberger Unterland area) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. It was founded in 1951 as a merger of the municipalities of Cleebronn, Eibensbach, Frauenzimmern and Güglingen. Axel Gerst is the managing director, Andreas Reichert is the cellar master. Around 500 winegrowers cultivate 250 hectares of vines in the single vineyards Michaelsberg (Cleebronn) and Kaiserberg (Güglingen). The red wine varieties Lemberger (Blaufränkisch), Schwarzriesling, Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), Trollinger (Schiava Grossa), Acolon, Samtrot and Muskat-Trollinger (Muscat d'Hamburg), as well as the white wine varieties Riesling, Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), Müller-Thurgau, Traminer, Silvaner and Kerner are cultivated. Selective harvesting is carried out with corresponding yield reduction with the aim of ripe and healthy grapes.

In 2009, the range was restructured and the individual wine lines were given clear profiles. The premium line "Emotion CG" (CG = Cleebronn-Güglingen) is produced from old vine stocks of selected winegrowers from the varieties Riesling, Merlot, Lemberger and Pinot Noir with extraordinary yield reduction. The red wines are matured in barrique barrels after a long maceration period and bottled without filtration. The other two lines are "St. Michael" (basic segment) and "Herzog Christoph" (upscale segment). Around two million bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of the "Werbegemeinschaft Württembergischer Weingärtnergenossenschaften" (connoisseurs drink Württemberger).
