The "Weingut und Sektgut Heiko Bamberger" is located in the community of Meddersheim in the German Nahe wine region. It has already been cultivating wine for several generations. Since 2014 it is managed by Heiko Bamberger and his wife Ute. In 2015 the newly built vinotheque was put into operation, which offers space for tastings and events. From here you have a view of the jogging tables. This also emphasizes the importance of sparkling wine production as an essential segment of the business.
The vineyards comprise 15 hectares of vineyards in the individual locations of Altenberg and Rheingrafenberg (Meddersheim), Frühlingsplätzchen (Monzingen) and Marbach (Sobernheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (the main variety with 60% of the stock),Pinot Gris, PinotBlanc, Gewürztraminer and Müller-Thurgau, as well as the red wine varietiesPinot Noir, Frühburgunder and Dornfelder. Sustainable viticulture is carried out according to Fair'n Green rules, which have been certified since the 2017 vintage.
The white wines are mostly fermented spontaneously and aged in stainless steel tanks. The red wines mature for the most part in traditional large wooden barrels and in Barrique barrels. The speciality of the house is the Winzersekt, which is aged on the yeast for up to six years. In the wine sector, the Réserve wines form the top of the collection. The best wines are marketed at the earliest two years after the harvest after longer bottle aging. The product range also includes the Pinot Noir Meddersheimer Rheingrafenberg, the light-pressed Pinot Noir Blanc de noirs, as well as Riesling Meddersheimer Altenberg and Riesling Monzinger Frühlingsplätzchen. In years with suitable weather conditions, an ice wine is also pressed.
