The winery is located in the municipality of Mödling at the foot of the Anninger in the wine-growing region of
Thermenregion (Lower Austria). The winery, which is rich in tradition, has a viticultural history of around 300 years. Crown Prince Rudolf (1858-1889) was among the guests, which is attested by diary entries of his Fiaker Bratfisch. A
wine tavern is attached. The winery is run by Birgit Pferschy-Seper. The vineyards cover six hectares in the vineyards In den Kapellen, Im Langen Grieß and In den Simmerln. They are 60% planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Rheinriesling, Chardonnay, Weißburgunder, Gelber Muskateller, Neuburger, Rotgipfler and Zierfandler, and 40% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, St. Laurent, Portugieser and Merlot
Organic viticulture is practised. The winery has been certified as an organic farm (BIOS) since 2003 and produces
organic wines according to the guidelines. The soil is
fertilised exclusively with special
composts (natural fertilisers). Quality-enhancing, yield-reducing measures include
short pruning and
thinning out in summer. The exclusively hand-picked, fully ripe grapes are gently pressed. After temperature-cooled fermentation, the wines are matured in steel tanks, large wooden barrels or in barriques in a
manner typical of the variety. Premium wines are Gemischter Satz, Weißburgunder Reserve, Zierfandler,
Spätrot-Rotgipfler (Zierfandler, Rotgipfler) and Merlot Barrique.
