The "Wein & Sekthaus Aloisiushof" is located in the community of St. Martin (area Südliche Weinstraße) in the German wine-growing region Palatinate
. It was founded by the married couple Alois and Rita Kiefer in 1950, although the family has been practising viticulture since the 17th century. The name of the winery is derived from the first names of the founder. Today the estate is run by the three families Bernhard, Michael and Andreas Kiefer. In 1980 the historic half-timbered building in the centre of the village was purchased and developed into a residential and business premises. Here the red wine is primarily matured in barrique barrels. The grape reception, the development of the white wines and the bottling take place in the outdoor operation at the edge of the village. The vineyards comprise 24 hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Baron and Kirchberg (St. Martin). They are planted with the red wine varieties Portugieser, Dornfelder, Dunkelfelder, Pinot Noir, Schwarzriesling, St. Laurent, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Cubin, as well as the white wine varieties Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Kerner, Gewürztraminer, Silvaner, Morio Muscat, Scheurebe, Huxelrebe and Bacchus. We consistently practice environmentally friendly viticulture close to nature. In suitable years also noble sweet wines are pressed. We also produce bottle-fermented sparkling wines, noble brandies (wine, grape, yeast, marc, fruit) and liqueurs.
