The winery is located in the municipality of Nordheim in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. It has been farmed as a sideline since 1980 and as a full-time business since 2002. The farm is run by Manfred Rothe. The vineyards cover ten hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Kreuzberg and Vögelein (Nordheim), Karthäuser (Astheim), Katzenkopf (Sommerach) and Kalb (Iphofen). They are planted with the white wine varieties Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Bacchus, Scheurebe, Helios, Pinot Gris, Rieslaner, Kerner and Muscaris, as well as with the red wine varieties Schwarzriesling, Domina, Pinot Noir, Blauer Zweigelt and Regent. There is a high proportion of old vines. The vineyards have been cultivated according to organic viticulture guidelines since the early 1980s

All wines are produced according to the principle "organic, fair and vegan". Almost all wines are fermented spontaneously. The white wines also go through a mash fermentation. The red wines are aged in 500-litre wooden barrels for 12 months. As a special feature, Orange Wines have been produced in amphorae (Kvevri), modelled on the Kakheti process (Georgia), since the 2013 vintage. The premium wines include the Orange Wine "Indigenius" (Silvaner) as well as the wines of the "Grande" line from old vines. Every year, 60,000 bottles of wine are produced. Fine brandies from the estate's own fruit cultivation and vinegar are also produced. The winery is a member of Bioland, Inselweinmacher and Bio&Fair
