The "Wein- und Obsthof Schneider" is located in the municipality of Großriedenthal in the Lower Austrian wine growing region of Wagram
. It is managed by Franz and Gabriela Schneider. On six hectares of vineyard area they cultivate wine. Together with a partner, an additional eight hectares of table grapes
are produced. The white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (40%), Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Roter Veltliner are cultivated to 60% of the parent company's vineyards, and the red wine varieties Blauer Zweigelt and Blauburger, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Rösler to 40%. As of 2009, a changeover from integrated to organic farming took place. This is intended above all to do justice to our own increased health and quality demands as well as the holistic aspect of working in and with nature. The aim is to produce wines with a fresh, fruity character that are typical of their location and region. Therefore, most of the wines are aged and matured in stainless steel tanks, only the premium red wines mature in barriques. Among the top wines are for example Grüner Veltliner Spielberg and Blauer Zweigelt Select. Ice wine is also pressed in years with suitable weather conditions.
