2017 Barolo DOCG "Buon Padre", Piedmont, Italy

Rather tart, fine-vegetable and very slightly reminiscent of caraway with restrained berry tones, mushrooms, partly dried flowers, cocoa and a little undergrowth. Ripe fruit with aromas of partly candied nuts, slightly cocoa-spicy wood notes, mushrooms again as well as a little coffee in the background, youthful, relatively crumbly tannin, lasting, certain power, a hint of coffee liqueur, very good, grippy, somewhat mineral finish.
