2019 Pinot Noir Landwein "Parabole", Oberrhein, Germany

Firm and deep, quite complex, somewhat herbaceous and a hint of bacon aroma of mixed berries and some cherries with very fine fleshy, floral and spicy nuances, a little smoke, pepper and mineral nuances. Taut, tangy, ripe, yet rather cool fruit, some smoky wood and a hint of tar, fine sandy, crumbly tannin, a little pepper, tobacco, sage and distinctly nutty aromas, lots of salt and chalk in the background, persistent, has power but no heaviness, very good, firm, tangy and smoky-spicy finish with tones reminiscent of aubergines and again plenty of salt
