IGT area (also Toscano) in the Italian region of Tuscany. It covers the entire region with the provinces of Arezzo, Firenze, Grosseto, Livorno, Lucca, Massa-Carrara, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato and Siena. The area was created in 1995 especially for the Super-Tuscans. As a result, the table wines that were previously only marketable as Vino da Tavola could be declared as wines of protected origin. The red grape variety comes from France. The name "Kleiner Grünling" refers to the high acidity of the grapes, which are often not fully ripened due to the long ripening period.
