2017 Chianti Classico DOCG, Tuscany, Italy

Firm, somewhat animalic scent of black and red berries with dried-herbal, peppery-spicy and slightly metallic and iodine aromas as well as a hint of tar. Ripe, firm, juicy, partly preserved fruit, smoky, toasty and chocolaty wood flavours, crumbly-sandy tannin, some bite, lots of power and some alcohol warmth, persistent, delicately iodine in the background, dried herb notes, hints of ethereal, very good, warm, juicy and quite spicy finish.
