2016 Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Tuscany, Italy

Firm, a hint of iodine, also animal scent of predominantly dark berries with Mediterranean herbs, a little tobacco, some smoke and liquorice. Ripe, juicy, warm, again rather dark fruit, cocoa and coffee spicy wood notes, fine sandy, ripe tannin, good persistence, delicately liqueur tones, lasting, fleshy, spicy nuances, a hint of ethereal, very good, warm finish. Unfortunately cannot keep up the quality of the last sample.

Editor note: Firm, tobacco, animal and slightly smoky-woody aroma of ripe black and a little red berries with cherry nuances, a hint of blood, pepper and tar. Tight, tangy, quite concentrated fruit, some acidity and present tannin, persistent on the palate, moderate, somewhat toasty wood flavours, a little coffee, good depth, still seems quite young, has polish, mineral hints in the background, very good, again firm and tangy finish with a little cocoa, coffee and smoke. May mature further.
