DOC area for white wine in the border area of the Italian regions Lombardy
at the southern end of Lake Garda
. The area is named after a battlefield where the Piedmontese defeated the Austrians in 1859. The zone covers about 25 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Desenzano del Garda, Lonato, Pozzolengo and Sirmione in the province of Brescia (Lombardy), and Peschiera del Garda in the province of Verona (Veneto).
