The winery is located in the municipality of Mölten (Meltina) about 20 kilometres from Bolzano in the Italian wine-growing region of South Tyrol ( Trentino-Alto Adige region). Founded in 1979, the winery at 1,200 metres above sea level is the highest in Europe. The family business is run by Josef (microbiologist, viticultural technician, contact with the winegrowers), his wife Marianne (customer service) and Michael Reiterer (sales, marketing). It is named after a mountain in Vinschgau. Only sparkling wines are produced according to the champagne method, which are kept on the yeast for at least 24 months, and even up to five years for Reserva qualities. There are no vineyards of their own, but the grape varieties used, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, come from quality winegrowers in various areas of South Tyrol such as Buchholz near Salurn, Eppan-Berg, Girlan and Terlan. The cultivation is controlled by the Reiterer family. After the grapes have been processed, the various wines are taken to the winery in Mölten, where the stages of sparkling wine production take place. Different styles of sparkling wine such as Millesimato (vintage sparkling wine), Blanc de Blancs (Chardonnay), varietal cuvées and rosés are produced and marketed under "Arunda Vivaldi". Vinegars are also distributed.
