2017 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Lagrein-Merlot "Yhrn", Alto Adige, Italy

Warm and woody, also a little dried-vegetable aroma of partly preserved mixed berries with mushroomy and earthy notes. Ripe, again partly preserved fruit in the mouth, some warmth, crumbly tannin, dried-vegetable, malty, woody and mushroomy notes, good substance and persistence, slightly flowing contours, some spice, also some cocoa butter, good to very good, spicy, rather soft finish. Has already lost a bit of polish

Editor note: Touch of nutty oak on the nose, earthy notes, black and a few red berries, hint of licorice. Clear, fairly polished fruit on the palate, fine tannins, light acid bite, floral traces, hint of beet root, fairly persistent, noticeable warm alcohol, spicy notes with some aniseed on a good to very good finish.
