Next to Bergland (Carinthia, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Tyrol, Vorarlberg) and Steirerland (Styria) the third Austrian wine growing region. With around 90%, it is by far the largest of the three. It includes the vineyards of the wine-growing regions of Burgenland, Lower Austria and Vienna (was a separate wine-growing region until 2009). The designation applies to local wines.
