2015 Wachau Ried Achleiten Grüner Veltliner Smaragd® trocken, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Firm, deep, yeasty nose, light vegetal and herbaceous notes, restrained pomaceous and stone fruit, prominent earthy and mineral notes, delicate peppery traces. Ripe, firm, concentrated, slightly warm, sweetish and creamy fruit on the palate, dried vegetal notes, hint of tobacco, peppery traces and some yellow spice, very elegant acidity, integrated tannins provide a noticeable grip, hint of tobacco in the background, some pomegranate seeds, noticeable warm alcohol, excellent substance and depth, appears quite massive, but also noble and elegant, very good long, creamy, spicy finish with a hint of tobacco and lots of black pepper. Improves with aeration over several days, definitely will benefit from maturation, but will not take any prisoners at any stage of its development.
