The winery is located in the municipality of Barolo (province of Cuneo) in the Italian region of Piedmont. In 1870, the Azienda Barala-Rinaldi was founded by Giovanni Battista Rinaldi. After a division of the property in 1916, Giuseppe Rinaldi founded the Azienda Agricola Giuseppe Rinaldi s.s.a. Son Battista Rinaldi was one of the first graduates of the viticultural school in Alba. He founded the Enoteca Regionale di Barolo during his time as mayor of Barolo from 1970 to 1975 and was its first president. Beppe "Citrico" Rinaldi then succeeded his father as a winemaker in 1992, hanging up his learned profession as a public veterinarian to do so. After his death in 2018, the business is now run by the two daughters Carlotta (degree in agronomy - vineyards) and Marta (degree in oenology - cellar techniques and agronomy). The family's property also includes a 10-hectare forest.
The vineyards cover seven hectares of vines in the Brunate, Bussia, Ravera, Le Coste and Cannubi San Lorenzo sites. They are planted with the red wine varieties Nebbiolo (3 ha), Barbera, Dolcetto, Freisa and Ruchè. The land is cultivated according to the rules of organic viticulture (no certification). Pruning is done according to the Simonit & Sirch method. No systemic plant protection products are used. The spontaneous maceration of several weeks takes place in wooden fermenters. The subsequent ageing is carried out in the Piedmontese brick cellar, built between 1914 and 1916, in oval barrels made of Slavonian oak with dosed use of sulphur. The product range includes the DOCG red wines Barolo Tre Tine (Ravera, Cannubi, Le Coste) and Brunate with three-year ageing, as well as various DOC wines Langhe, Barbera d'Alba and Dolcetto d'Alba. The premium wines of the house are Barolo Brunate, Barolo Tre Tine (Ravera, Cannubi, Le Coste), Langhe Nebbiolo. Every year, 40,000 bottles of wine are produced, about half of which is exported to Germany, England, Norway, the USA and Japan. The winery is a member of the Consorzio Vini Veri association
