2017 Barolo DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

Very slightly developed, somewhat tobacco and iodine aroma of red and somewhat black berries, foliage, iron and partly dried mushrooms with floral aromas and a hint of tar. Tart, quite tightly knit fruit, nutty, slightly smoky and hints of cocoa spice, also a little pepper, present tannin and light bite, good persistence, has power and warmth, salt in the background, noticeable but integrated alcohol, hints of mushrooms in the background, very good, quite firm, tart finish with wood and smoke notes and nutty spice. Has shed its youthful brittleness.
