2017 Mittelburgenland DAC Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Tart, somewhat dried-vegetable to tobacco and nutty-woody aroma of ripe black berries, hints of juniper and a little tar. Ripe black fruit with ethereal-herbal notes, some bite and present, fine sandy tannins, toasty wood spice with cocoa and coffee tones, persistent and powerful on the palate, floral nuances, noticeable alcohol that integrates well with air, also gains juice, very good finish with partly preserved dark fruit, salt, herbal notes and wood spice.
