2017 Merlot Grande Réserve trocken "JO-MA", Burgenland, Austria

Firm and deep aroma of ripe black berries, dried paprika, Havana tobacco and a little dried Mediterranean herbs with slightly cedary wood spice. Ripe, tart and firm, quite juicy dark fruit with slightly smoky, toasty and again distinctly tobacco flavours, some acid bite and present fine sandy ripe tannin, persistent, complex and dense on the palate, slightly toasty wood spice, a little cocoa and coffee in the background, good depth, salty mineral tones, has tension and freshness for all its power, very good tart, juicy and spicy finish, again with smoky, toasty and tobacco spice, as well as a hint of black olives. Great.
