2005 trocken vinum sine nomine, Burgenland, Austria

Clearly woody and slightly smoky aroma of ripe, partly preserved dark berries and plums with dried planty aromas, some root vegetables and laurel. Powerful and quite juicy in the mouth, some toasty wood spice, herbal notes again reminiscent of laurel, fine sandy, partly drying tannin, a hint of soot, some acid bite, good persistence, peppery nuances, smoky and peppery hints, cocoa and a hint of coffee, some alcohol warmth, mineral hints, very good finish with juice, bacon, herbs and wood.

Editor note: Fairly mature nose, black berries and cherries, dried herbsm mineral notes, light smoky and roasted notes. Spicy, smoky oak on the palate, with fairly cool dark fruit, fairly prominent fine dusty tannins, chocolate, some dried herbs in the background, prominent mineral notes, very good substance and persistence, light acid bite, good depth, dried fruit and prominent roasted notes reminiscent of coffee on a long finish.
