The winery "Bodegas Primicia" is located in Laguardia in the Spanish Rioja sub-area Rioja Alavesa
. It was founded by Julián Madrid. Today it is owned by the families of the founding sons Madrid Castañeda. In 1985 a new winery was built outside the city. The vineyards cover 45 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with the classic Rioja varieties Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon. For aging, 5,500 barrique barrels, mostly made of French oak, are available. There are for example the wine brands Curium, Diezmo, Julián Madrid and Viña Carravalseca (single vineyard). About 60% of the production goes to export.
