2018 Barbaresco DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

Somewhat smoky, tobacco and iodine aroma of red and a little black berries with dried floral notes. Quite tightly knit, tart-juicy fruit, some acid bite and fine sandy, ripe tannin, spicy, dried-herbal, nutty and slightly tarry aromas, a touch ethereal, again a little iodine, very good, quite juicy and finely spicy finish with traces of cocoa, malt and coffee
