Editor note: Firm nose, hinjt of tobacco, red and a few black berries, peppery traces, dried flowers, tarry traces, mineral traces. Ripe, fairly firm, juicy fruit on the palate, hint of undergrowth and tobacco, touch of cocoa and coffee, fine, firm, youthful tannins, light acid bite, spicy traces, touch of juniper and rosehip, prominent licorice, very full-bodied and creamy, some depth, very good, ripe, juicy, spicy fini8sh.
Best to drink: 2020-2026+

DOCG area for red wine in the Italian region of Piedmont. The vineyards extend over 500 hectares, divided into about the same number of plots. The zone includes the municipalities of Barbaresco (with more than 50%), Neive and Treiso, and Alba with the San Rocco Seno d'Elvio sub-area in the province of Cuneo.
