2016 Etna DOC Rosso "Contrada Santo Spirito - 464", Sicily, Italy

Tart, firm, somewhat tobacco and nutty aroma of red and black berries with dry herb aromas, a little fresh tomato, sage, nuts and hints of olives. Extremely fresh, juicy, rather bright, polished fruit, nutty aromas and a hint of cocoa, oregano, sage and a little black olives on the palate, also peppery tones, fine, yet quite taut, youthful tannin, a hint of tomato essence in the background, persistent, has power but no heaviness, good depth, clear minerality, juniper tones, a hint of tobacco, very good, taut, tangy and spicy finish with ethereal notes, salt and some smoke.
