2018 Lazio IGT Merlot "Ars Magna", Latium, Italy

Tart, slightly developed, slightly vegetal nose of black and some red berries with smoky notes, a hint of tobacco, dried herbs, hints of black olives and dried tomatoes. Dark fruit, dried vegetal notes and lots of smoky, somewhat bitterish wood in the mouth, present tannin, moderate bite, good persistence, salt in the background, has power, some depth, very good, firm, only drying again with noticeable alcohol.

Best to drink: Bis 2028+. What our ratings mean
