2019 Kallstadt Saumagen Riesling, Pfalz, Germany

Somewhat herbal, floral and very slightly smoky aroma of partly candied citrus fruits with herbal notes, a little light tobacco, bacon and floral traces. Ripe, warm, sweetish fruit, smoky and nutty aromas, a hint of butter, some candy and yellow spice, powerful and persistent on the palate, fine acidity, moderate grip, chalky-salty minerality in the background, candy tones, a hint of wine gum, plus fat nuts, very good, quite dense, juicy, a little yellow-spicy, smoky and mineral finish with some sweetness.

Editor note: Firm, somewhat vegetal, slightly smoky and nutty aroma with restrained, calm, slightly warm yellow fruity aromas, a little green bacon, mushrooms and clear, chalky minerality. Ripe, melting, somewhat warm fruit, very fine acidity, floral, herbal to herbaceous and delicately mushroomy notes, fine acidity and crumbly tannin, very slightly sweet melting on the palate, has power and substance, some depth, a hint of soy sauce in the background, slightly mushroomy, very good, firm finish with melting, warmth, yellow spice, grip and minerality.
