The Frank Brohl organic wine estate is located in the municipality of Pünderich (Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle wine growing region. The farm is managed by Jutta and Frank Brohl. The vineyards comprise seven hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Marienburg, Nonnengarten and Rosenberg (Pünderich), as well as Goldlay and Mullay-Hofberg (Reil). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (leading variety with 70%), Müller-Thurgau andPinot Blanc, and the red wine variety PinotNoir. A special feature are the hundred-year-old, root-true vines in the Reiler Goldlay, for which a vine sponsorship can be taken over. For the rent you get a bottle of wine "Edition alte Rieslingreben" for five or ten years.
The cultivation has been carried out according to guidelines since 1984. Organic viticulture is practiced according to the rules of ECOVIN. This includes pest control with herbal extracts, plant teas and algae extracts (i.e. no herbicides or insecticides), organic fertilization with compost and manure, and soil improvement with mulch, primary rock flour, lime and greening. No fining agents or animal clarifiers are used in the vinification process, so the wines are also suitable for vegans. The Rieslings from the best sites are marketed with site designation. In years with suitable weather conditions, Trockenbeerenauslesen are also produced. About 40,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
