The champagne house was founded in 1976 by the Feuillatte brothers, who had made their money as beverage traders and coffee importers. They acquired a 12-hectare vineyard in Bouleuse near Reims, and the first brand created was "Brut Réserve Particulière". From the 1980s onwards, there was a cooperation with the winegrowers' association CVC (Centre Vinicole de la Champagne), which acquired the Nicolas Feuillatte brand in 1986. Later, the name was changed to CV-CNF (Centre Vinicole - Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte). Today, the cooperative association with its headquarters in Chouilly comprises 83 member cooperatives with more than 5,000 winegrowers who cultivate about 2,200 hectares of vineyards.

The Champagne production process is fully automated with temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation tanks with a capacity of over 300,000 hectolitres, precision shaking systems with gyro pallets, automated disgorging and very fast bottling lines. The storage capacity is 100 million bottles. The large product range is produced under the two brand names "Nicolas Feuillatte" and "Palmes d'Or". Malolactic fermentation is practised on the entire range. More than 150 cru wines are available for the assemblage. The wines are aged for around 30 months for the vintage blends and five years for the millésime (vintage champagnes). The Cuvée de Prestige, the top product of the house is "Palmes d'Or Brut Vintage". In 2011, 9.6 million bottles of champagne were sold, 40% of which were exported to around 70 countries. Within 35 years, a place among the top five was achieved.
