2023 Landwein trocken "Charakterkopf", Main, Germany

Dark, murky ochre to gold yellow. Harsh, slightly smoky, nutty and tobacco-like scent of partly soft stone fruit with nuances reminiscent of juniper, forest floor, mustard seed, and dill. Polished, bitter, firm fruit with noticeable acidity, some red currants, dried flowers, and yellow spice, has a grip of ripe tannin, good sustainability, certain depth, salty and stony minerality, in the background nutty and spicy wood tones, slightly sharp coleslaw, hinted Thai mint and allspice in the very good finish.
