2022 Maximin Grünhaus Abtsberg Pinot Noir VDP.Grosses Gewächs trocken, Mosel, Germany

Still undeveloped, raw, bitter chocolate-woody and slightly smoky nose with black berries and a hint of sour cherries, a touch of pepper, meat, dried herbs, and earthy-vegetal nuances in the background, youthful, quite dense, dark fruit with some smoky and distinctly bitter chocolate wood aromas, crumbly-sandy, still undeveloped, slightly drying tannins, certain warmth on the palate, leathery and herbal traces, also smoky-ethereal hints, good substance and sustainability, very good, but also still drying and woody finish. Needs to mature.
