2011 Pollino DOC Riserva Graneta, Calabria, Italy

Cedary traces on the notes, light meaty notes, tart spicy notes, partly preserved mixed berries, hint of tobacco, old oak and beet toor, earthy notes, iodine, rust and floral traces. Fairly firm, slightly smooth dark fruit on the palate, nutty and toasted aromas, hint of dark chocolate, touch of iodine, fine sandy tannins, medium body, fairly persistent, metallic traces, light earthy notes, peppery and floral traces, very good, fairly complex and spicy finish. Should prove to be an ideal partner for venison dishes.
