2021 Kremstal DAC Ried Pellingen Grüner Veltliner Erste ÖTW Ried trocken "Privat", Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Tart, firm, vegetal and a hint of smokiness with rather restrained stone and pome fruit notes, tobacco traces and hints of pepper. Ripe, warm, melting fruit with fine acidity and delicate grip, plenty of power and substance, some candy, some sweetness on the palate, notes reminiscent of rhubarb, noticeable alcohol, floral tones, some minerality, very good, quite juicy, warm finish with ethereal and floral tones. Still has an undeniable alcohol power, but has gained in harmony and finesse.

Editor note: Still very slightly muted, somewhat dried-vegetable to herbal, also a hint of smoky scent with yellow-fruity aromas, a hint of bacon and mushrooms, increasing minerality with air and noticeable alcohol. Warm, melting, again a little muted fruit, friable tannin, vegetal and earthy tones, a little yellow spice, plenty of alcohol, buttery and dried-floral nuances, a little wax and lard, in the background also tart, rather dark minerality, firm, juicy and tart-spicy finish with a little liquorice.
