2021 Kremstal DAC Ried Kirchenberg Grüner Veltliner Erste ÖTW Ried trocken "Herzstück", Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Firm and deep aroma reminiscent of celery and aloe vera with stone and stone fruit aromas, nutty and buttery hints, some light tobacco, pepper and mineral tones. Firmly knit, ripe, warm fruit, nutty, distinctly vegetal and delicately smoky tones, restrained acidity but relatively much grip, concentrated and persistent on the palate, tobacco and slightly ashy tones, dark background, quite mineral, a touch of butter, noticeable but integrated alcohol, also yellow-spicy hints, a hint of woodiness in the background, very good, dense, spicy and melting finish with plenty of alcohol warmth.

Editor note: Quite firm, somewhat warm, yellow-spicy scent of ripe yellow fruits with smoky, bacony and slightly tobacco aromas, a little mushroom and yellow spice. Warm, ripe, partly candied sweet fruit, yellow spice again, vegetal, mushroomy and yellow-spicy aromas, moderate acidity, some grip, good persistence, lots of alcohol, mineral hints in the background, a little light tobacco, peppery nuances, some mustard pickle, some depth, very good, warm finish with sweet juice, yellow spice, lavender, candied tones and again plenty of alcohol warmth. Goes rather wide on the second day, then tightens up again a bit, but remains a bit filling due to the high alcohol and the sweetness.
