2009 Kremstal DAC Ried Hochäcker Riesling Reserve trocken Erste Lage, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Cool, polished nose, prominent mineral notes, citrus fruit and peaches, tart herbaceous and delicate vegetal traces, hint of cassis. Cool on the palate, elegant and firm lively and contoured in spite of the high alcohol, fairly prominent and extremely elegant acidity with some bite, prominent mineral notes, but also creamy, very good persistence, dark berries in the background, some cassis and juniper, very good finish.

Editor note: Fairly cool, rather closed nose, herbaceous, hint of citrus and peaches and dark berries. Concentrated on the palate, mature but restrained fruit, tart herbaceous notes, some more black berries, very elegant acidity, intense, dark mineral notes, full-bodied and persistent, very compact, still largely undeveloped, long finish.
