2018 Côte Rôtie AOC "Brune et Blonde de Guigal", Rhône, France

Quite firm, a touch toasty and clove-spicy aroma of ripe, partly preserved mainly dark berries and a little cherries with herbal notes, delicate tomato-vegetable hints as well as a hint of juniper and smoke. Taut, juicy, ripe fruit with nutty and slightly cocoa- and coffee-spicy aromas, crumbly, sandy, ripe tannin, some bite, lasting and powerful on the palate, also with a certain freshness, dried herbs and hints of pepper in the background, also mineral tones, very good, firm, juicy, somewhat bacony, herbaceous and smoky-meaty finish with cocoa notes.
