2021 Oppenheim Chardonnay VDP.Ortswein trocken Alte Reben, Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm and relatively cool, smoky-woody, yeasty and herbal citrus scent with stone fruit notes and mushroomy traces as well as mineral hints. Firm, tangy, again rather cool fruit, smoky and nutty wood aromas, fine, youthful acidity and grip of crumbly tannin, persistent, good depth and substance, quite distinct, light minerality, a hint of juniper, very good, firm, tangy, smoky and again also woody-spicy finish with fine herbal tones and light tobacco. Needs time.
